Udupi, Nov 11: Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat has been chosen as the president of the government's assurances committee in the state assembly.
A number of nominations have been made to different standing committees of the legislature for the year 2020-21. The assembly speaker has appointed Raghupathi Bhat as the president of the assurance committee. Beltagady MLA Harish Poonja and Sanjeev Matandoor of Puttur are among the 13 members of this committee.
The assurances committee is vested with the responsibility of implementing the assurances given by the government in the house. The meeting of the committee is convened every week to review the progress made in meeting the promises made by the government in the house.
