Puttur: ZP CEO orders to vacate Uppinangady Nada Kacheri

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Nov 11: Zilla panchayat chief executive officer Dr Selvamani observed that the continuance of Nada Kacheri in the meeting hall of the gram panchayat building at Uppinangady is not an acceptable situation. He said that it is observed that even after the lapse of time given for it to function here, the Nada Kacheri has failed to make alternative arrangement. He asked the panchayat administrator to take steps to vacate Nada Kacheri from the panchayat building.

He observed that the Nada Kacheri has been functioning in the meeting hall of the panchayat building when he visited the panchayat office after visiting the land earmarked for Uppinangady solid waste management unit. At that time, he was informed that the Nada Kacheri was given 11 months time to function in the panchayat office pending construction of its own building. The time of 11 months given to it had expired long back and since the two years, the office is functioning without even paying electricity bill or rent, the CEO was informed.

Dr Selvamani asked them to cut power connection given to the Nada Kacheri if they fail to pay electricity bill. He also asked the panchayat to serve notice to the Nada Kacheri to shift from the panchayat building by giving them a deadline.

Executive officer and Uppinangady gram panchayat administrator, Naveen Bhandary, and panchayat development officer, Vincent Lawrence Rodrigues, were present.
