M'lore: ‘SDPI Backing in GP Elections to Benefit Communal Parties’

Mangalore, May 8: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) supported contestants in the fray for the gram panchayat election will only divide the votes cast by the Muslim community and in turn indirectly help communal party like BJP, said Moideen Bava, president of District Congress Minority Committee.

Speaking at a press meet in district Congress office, he said that the SDPI has backed some of the contestants, mostly in the areas where the voters from Muslim community are in large numbers. It will only divide the Muslim votes and will help communal party like BJP, he observed. Most of the leaders in SDPI are not confident of winning and hence will only contribute to dividing votes, he added.

The Muslim community has always supported Congress party for its secular stand, he said adding that SDPI participation will only affect the Congress. He called on the voters to undertsnd the ploy and support congress.

Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Gretta Rebello, B K Idinabba and Khalid Yousuf among others were present.

    Mr.Bava, dirty politician, what you mean by Communal party?? Every time in the history of Congress , you people are segregating the society by Religion, Caste & Community to grab the votes. You are the party always create misunderstanding between the Communities & the reason for clashes between them. Just here also you are pointing out about Muslim community votes as they are Congress parties slaves. You never think of development of poor minority people instead of you only ask for reservation & you Politicians will take the advantage.

    Defeating BJP and winning congress is only muslims responsibility isn't it?!.Muslims had good experience with Congress since 60 years.So let them go and find some solution with coosing their own party.If Mr Moidin bava wanted to see the real picture and condition of muslim please have a tour to West Bengal, Bihar, UP,Assam, Orissa, Jarkhand and all other states and study of muslims worst condition and come back to karnataka and make one more press conference.The reality of Justice Sachar commission will be experienced.

    Mr. Bava’s arguments is right, we had observed that, many time regional party contested in all time secular vote only divided, not communal vote. SDPI definitely wasting some number of secular vote, this benefit naturally grab communal party. In this crucial time better to support for win at least some secular minded candidate.

    Congress has done nothing so far for the minority group, and introducing SDPI is an good move for minority people. If SDPI wins atleast one seat is more than enough than Congress winning 10 seat for no use. Congress is just like FLOP IPL Group.

    Mr. Moidin bava, Don’t think that SDPI is meant only for muslims, it’s very clear from their first campaigning, its emerging as new political party for the betterment of human life in one society.
    on what logic you said, that muslims vote will be divided, SDPI is contesting for the first time in D.K. and what about the before history...?
    it’s your foolishness that you said, congress in non secular, it’s purely confirm that congress is just acting as non secular for muslims vote bank..but all greedies are inside the party...

    GP election is fought on the basis of personal capacity most probaly party not counts but person counts.However BJP have taken GP election in party basis and prestage issue.

    I think grama panchayath election results purely depend on candidates profile.....BJP.. CONG ...SDPI or any other party...now a days voters are very intelligent...In many cases they shown their brilliency.I dont believe that 100% muslims are voting in favour of congress.If 100% muslims voted in favour of congress also congress will not win even a single seat with out hindus vote.

    Mr Bava and dear congress- the reason the 3rd parties and other candidates exist is coz it is an Indipendant country . They see that relegion has been exploited and the Congress has not done much for them! Some elements have benefited a great amount financially from exploiting relegion. Hence the want to voice their opinions and fight it out alone. Congress / Bava think that Muslim votes are their birth right

    If we vote on relegious lines then society and democracy will fail. Think of it- If all Hindus vote for BJP- the corrupt congress politicians will be forced to find other means of livelyhood. Thank God its not happening.

    Historically more has been done by non Congress parties for the minority while they are in power- check this fact out. I do not mean giving steel vessels, photoups , Speeches and giving offering to Dargas before elections.
    Real legeslative reforms and benefits is what the people in society should judge a party and not false accusitions and explotation of relegions for votes- Good riddence congress- Pseudo socialists- take care of your self with wealth and corruption BUT distribute other peoples wealth around.
