Yenepoya hosts Global Workshop on AI in health research & ethics

Mangaluru, Jul 18: A workshop on AI in Health-related research and scientific publications: Digital technologies, ethics, and research integrity workshop, supported by NIH (Grant no. 1R25TW010305), NCE was organised by the Centre for Ethics, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru on June 19 and 20.

The resource persons were Francis P Crawley, executive director, Good Clinical Practice Alliance Europe (GCPA), Dr Vina Vaswani, director, Centre for Ethics & professor, Department of Forensic Medicine and Akuma Ifeanyichukwu, senior research fellow, Centre for Ethics, Yenepoya Medical College.



The vice chancellor, Dr M Vijayakumar graced the inaugural event. The sessions were quite interactive and useful for the participants and covered topics like AI in predictive analytics for patient outcomes, policy and legal issues in AI implementation.

The programme was successfully conducted in hybrid mode. Since it was in hybrid mode, 18 participants from the University and from University's international collaborating institutions, comprising various disciplines benefited from this workshop.

The participants clarified their concepts and highly appreciated the sessions. The programme wrapped up with a vote of thanks, distribution of appreciation certificate to the resource persons and participation certificates to the delegates and ended with a group photograph.
