Mangaluru: Bharath Seva Dal observes birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

Mangaluru, Nov 14: Bharath Seva Dal on November 14 observed the birth anniversary of the former prime minister of India, late Jawaharlal Nehru by garlanding and offering floral tributes to his statue at Pandeshwar here.

District Bharath Seva Dal president Bashir Bykampady said, "Nehru, the first prime minister of the country had laid a strong foundation for the economic and social development in the country. He started five-year plans, founded industries all over the country and acted against unemployment issues. Nehru loved children. Therefore Children’s Day is being celebrated on his birth anniversary," he said.

Seva Dal taluk president, Prabhakar Sriyan, Suresh Shetty, Udaya Kunder, Krathin Kumar, Shobha Keshava, school teachers Pavana, Aruna, Suma and Sava Dal students were present. District Seva Dal secretary, T K Sudhir welcomed the gathering. Convener Manje Gowda compered the programme.
