Bengaluru: Woman dies after alleged harassment by husband, in-laws over astrologer's prediction

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Nov 15: A woman allegedly ended her life just nine months after her marriage, allegedly due to harassment by her husband and in-laws after an astrologer's prediction.

The deceased has been identified as Ashwini (25). Her husband Yuvaraj has been arrested by the police.

It is said that Yuvaraj had fallen in love with Ashwini during college days and had coaxed her to marry him. Ashwini, who had lost her father, convinced her mother for the alliance and the couple got married in the month of February this year.

The couple lived in a separate house for around two months. However, during the coronavirus lockdown, Yuvaraj lost his job and started roaming with his friends. This created rift in the marriage. Ashwini used to work and make ends meet.

In the meantime, family members of Yuvaraj approached an astrologer who predicted that Ashwini would never bear children. Yuvaraj started allegedly harassing Ashwini based on the words of the astrologer. In addition, his family members also started harassing her. Yuvaraj used to harass Ashwini for an expensive mobile phone and more dowry, it is alleged. He was pressuring her to get these for him even if it meant taking loan.

The couple had an argument on the night of Friday, November 13. It is said that Yuvaraj assaulted Ashwini on the morning of Saturday, November 14 too. Later, Ashwini called her sister Varshini and informed the matter. A short while later, Yuvaraj conveyed to her relatives that Ashwini had fallen ill and been admitted to hospital. Before her mother and sister could reach the hospital, Ashwini had breathed her last.

Family members of Ashwini accused Yuvaraj of ruining Ashwini's life based on the words of the astrologer. Injury marks were found on Ashwini's body, sources said.

There is uncertainty regarding the manner in which Ashwini died. A few sources stated that she was found hanging in her room. Her family members alleged that Yuvaraj had hanged her and made it look like suicide.

The truth would be revealed only after post-mortem report is available. The body was shifted to Ambedkar hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered in Hennur police station.

He was NOT fit to marry. But he was a cunning person. He convinced the girl to marry him. There are many like him who lure innocent girls. They are cunning enough to hide their true nature from the girls. After marriage, they show their true colours. It will take one more generation to change the attitude of male dominated Indian society.

What kind of sick mind are these people having? He is fine and healthy. If someone is ready to do hard work, even during these tough days, one can make a living rather than shamelessly go after wife's resources.
This guy does not deserve to be treated normally. An example of this case must be made for those sick minds who are yet to manifest themselves on innocent women.

How sad.A young girls life has been ruined by this Astrologer and husband .So first hang them both and rest can be cleared.Otherwise he will marry another girl now and harass her too.First question is who brought her down before Police coming? It reveals in which position she was hanging.Suppse she self hanged or someone hanged.I think when husband tortured her died and they hanged her first?or she herself couldnt bear the torture and suicide.when he lost job why he wanted a mobile from wife?Couldnt work and buy ?Heartfelt sympathy to her mother and family.Dont let husband free.May her soul rest in peace.

I predict that I will get a lot of 'Disagree' votes but you guys are educated enough. Why blame the astrologer ? Maybe he gives fake predictions or maybe he doesn't. Did the astrologer force people to visit him or do people go on their own free-will ? In the end, his prediction did come true in a cruel sort of way.

The blame needs to be channelled on the husband and his parents. When you marry out of love, you will do everything to remain together in good times and bad. Your partner becomes your world and everything is secondary. Here, it seems the intentions of the husband and his family were not good right from the start and they were perhaps hopeful to extract some money or property out of the girl's parents at or after marriage.

Their job is to induce un substantiated incidents and foretelling for monetary gain. Some educated fools fall prey to all such claims and inflict harm on others. Can such astrologers predict their won future. Never !

Catch the astrologer and ask him to predict his future behind bars for next ten years. People don't believe in the power of Almighty God and their own self but pay and believe in street side astrologers. In the bargain poor girl lost her life. Fake business will flourish in this country until there are stupid customers.

Arrest all the family members and punish them for murdering the unfortunate girl. Astrologer should also be arrested and debarred from main land to avoid fooling innocents which may give way to suidide or killing of more innocent girls. Ashwini married this girl which is a common fashion now to lure and marry innocent girls and after marriage force the girls to bring more dowry. Police should investigate papeople behind this . Its getting popularity now.

Anand Mahindra of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, told that a world famous astrologer had said Trump would win the election. Mr. Mahindra told he did not want to tell the name of the astrologer, since if the prediction goes wrong, astrologer would lose his reputation.

The right person to say whether one can get children or not is Gynaecologist and not a tantrik or astrologer. This Yuvraj, having married to her, could have checked with the doctor and if it was right, could have chosen IVF. Even if IVF does not work, there are plenty of children available for adoption. There are so many couples without children having good life. Having gone through saath phere and the promises he made during the pheres and his demand of dowry and other things, it clearly shows Yuvraj is not a man of virtues.

A Billionaire following a astrologer, what had happened in Bangalore is a silly thing (not Ashwini's death but In-laws belief ) comparing to Mahindra's shameless observations !!! That was very clear that, Mahindra's observations were, only to please Trump's friends in India and elsewhere!

It's the boy and his family who should be booked.... For astrologer, it is his occupation.... unless and until there is a suspicion that he has instigated to kill her, he cannot be booked.....though I too wish he is booked.

Believing in astrology is as foolish as believing in prophecies based on blind faith. Astrology, Occultism, Prophesying, Faith etc... are just businesses for the sake of survival. Adi Sankara rightly said " Udhara Nimittam Bahukritha Vesham" (Donning different garbs for the sake of belly).

Ofcourse true .. but it seems like the girl was a baby bearing and cash machine to the boy.. it was just 9 months of marriage.. there are several medical procedures available now so I don't think it would be a big deal.. if there was love in this so called "love marriage" then they could have found a way out..
Being unemployment how would he take care of his immediate family?? He just took out his frustration this girl..

“The Semantic meaning of „crime against women‟ is direct or indirect physical or mental cruelty to women. Crimes which are „directed specifically against women‟ and in which „only women are victims‟ are characterized as „Crime Against Women It is equally important to clarify the concept of „Violence‟ against women.

True, some married directly do not assault wives for the sake of reputation in the society but they give mental torture in many other ways where his stand appears is as innocent as goat... but his acts are devilish at home... .. If a lady keeps quiet for the sake of her children, and fearing society and neighbourhood and if she has no monetary help, her life is like a hell in this world and she suffers silently and getting into depression... and some even commit..... 😢
