Udupi: Naked youth gives rise to anxious moments

Udupi, Nov 16: A youth who was found roaming around at Karavali Circle on National Highway 66 here on Sunday November 15 gave rise to awkward and anxious moments to the people for some time.

Initially the people thought him to be a Jain Sanyasi. However, after the Jain community members confirmed that he was not, social worker Vishu Shetty Ambalpady, rescued him and admitted him into Dr A V Baliga Hospital Doddanakagudde here.

The youth is learnt to have attacked Vishu Shetty on this occasion. Police personnel of the town station supported the rescue operation. It was later learnt that he is a youth named Venkatesh from Katapady who is grappling with psychological problems.
