Kaup, Nov 17: The locals, on Monday November 16, busted a racket of selling adulterated honey in Majoor and surrounding places of the taluk.

Those who were caught in the act were Rohan, Param Singh, Vikas and Badshah, all from Bihar. About a month back, they had come to Majoor and nearby areas, selling honey. Many locals had bought honey from them, believing it to be a product of the beekeepers and therefore pure. However, later they came to know that it was adulterated.

The gang came to the area again to sell honey. The locals stopped them and questioned them at which the youngsters confessed to be selling adulterated honey. They said they collect honey from the honeycombs and then sell the same after mixing sugar, jaggery etc. They revealed that their main strategy was to target villagers.

It is learnt that they were handed over to the police.
