Hassan, Nov 20: On learning that her son had killed his wife, Jayamma (56) from Kachehalli village in Dandiganahalli revenue division in Channarayapatna taluk in the district, ended her life by consuming poison.
Jayamma's son, Gangadhar had married Pooja from Kurubarahalli village in Holenarasipour taluk in the district six years back. The relationship between the two was strained for a year. On Tuesday night, the couple fought after which Gangadhar killed his wife with a sickle.
Jayamma, feeling frustrated, ended her life, the police said.
