Beltangady, Nov 21: A report about the unnatural death of a student by jumping into a pond was registered in Venur police station in the taluk. The victim was a tenth standard student of a private high school at Siddakatte.
Samarth (16), son of Narayan Shetty from Kodyelu in Arambody village killed himself in this manner. He had left home for school but did not return even in the evening. His family members went looking for him. His body was found from a pond located near his home.
Samarth reportedly was a bright student. No reason for his decison to commit suicide could be ascertained.
