Udupi, Dec 7: The process of filing nomination papers for 329 seats in 16 gram panchayats of Udupi district and Udupi taluk, 412 seats in 27 gram panchayats in Brahmavar taluk, 259 seats in 15 gram panchayats in Byndoor taluk and 122 seats in nine gram panchayats in Hebri taluk took place in the first phase. Therefore, the process has begun in four taluks consisting of 1122 seats in 67 gram panchayats with 415 constituencies.
"The elections will be held from December 22 from 7 am to 5 pm. December 11 will be the last day for submission of nominations. December 14 will be the last day to withdraw the nominations. The votes will be counted on December 30 in the taluk centres," informed deputy commissioner, G Jagadeesha in a press release.
