Bengaluru, Dec 8: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa has expressed his condolences on the demise of Maribasamma Kanti, wife of former chief minister S R Kanti in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
In a condolence message, the chief minister said late Kanti had distinguished himself as the chief minister of Karnataka and had served as education minister in the cabinet of former chief minister S Nijalingappa. Late Kanti had rendered immense contributions for bringing about reforms in the education sector and had established the Kittur Rani Chennamma.
Maribasamma Kanti had stood behind her husband and supported his activities and had lived as a centenarian.
The chief minister has sent condolence message to the bereaved family.
