Bantwal, Dec 9: Punjalkatte station police personnel arrested under POCSO Act Hirebandadi, near Uppinangadi, resident Ajay (21) on charges of raping and impregnating a minor girl residing in Punjalkatte police station limits.
The minor girl is said to be related to the accused. The accused developed a friendship with her and misused her for sex. The girl had become pregnant and her child died when she was on the way to the hospital due to labour pains.
As Punjalkatte police personnel came to know that she had been admitted to the hospital for treatment, they registered a case against Ajay and arrested him. He has been produced in court and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
