Bengaluru: Transport employees to march to Vidhana Soudha on Thursday

Bengaluru, Dec 10: Under the slogan, 'transport employees march towards becoming government servants', employees of transport corporations will hold 'Vidhana Soudha Chalo' programme in the city on Thursday December 10.

The march will begin at 10 am from Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna railway station. Members of several employee unions are likely to participate in the Jatha. Officials however do not expect any disruption in transport service. But employee leader, Anand, said that about 1.3 lac transport workers from all over the state will participate in the protest.

The demands of the workers are to consider transport employees as government servants, extend all facilities for which government employees are eligible, to transport employees, and disburse compensation of Rs 30 lac to the families of those transport employees who died during the corona period.
