Mangaluru: Renovated AC premises of MCC Bank Puttur blessed, customer meet held

Mangaluru, Dec 12: The renovated AC Puttur branch premises was inaugurated on December 12. The renovated AC premises of the Puttur branch was blessed by Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, the parish priest of Mai De Deus church and Vicar Forane of Puttur deanery.

The customer meet was held at Christopher Banquet Hall, Puttur. The programme was presided over by the chairman of the bank, Anil Lobo, vicar forane of Puttur deanery, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas. Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor was the chief guest. Vice-president of Mai De Deus Church, Maurice Mascarenhas was the guest of honour.

The programme started with a prayer session conducted by Vandana and Chandana, followed by a minute of silence for the departed soul of late Ignatius Dias the owner of the building.

Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, congratulated the chairman, the board of directors and the staff of Puttur branch for having a renovated AC premise to render service to the customer. He said MCC Bank over the years has served many needy customers. He wished the bank to grow further by giving good service to the customer and society. He appreciated the leadership of Anil Lobo. He wished good luck to the management and staff to achieve all their goals.



MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor speaking on the occasion, said, "Puttur has given enough recognition to our district by giving birth to many co-operative societies. Our district has its own presence in the banking sector by giving birth to many banks. These co-operative societies have served the customer at ground level, they provided support to the poor and the needy. They have provided facilities and services which are at par with major banks." He congratulated the management and Puttur branch staff for bringing the changes and wished the bank to grow and get a scheduled bank status in the coming days.

Anil Lobo, chairman of the bank, in his presidential speech, thanked all the customers and delegates for making time and their presence felt at the meet and their love for the bank. He opined that the banking sector has grown immensely over the years. Co-operative banks are not much behind with other commercial banks. MCC Bank not just works commercially, but also strives hard to meet the needs of the customers. To give relief to the customer, the jewel loan interest was reduced from 12 percent to 8.50 percent. He expressed his happiness to see many senior customers of the bank still happily using their service with showing the trust the bank has built with them. Over the past two years the bank has grown to a great extent despite many hurdles. He opined such achievements are always backed by customer support. He said that the bank comes under RBI and requested the customer to give more support to the bank. The bank is doing every bit to go digitally. As a result, the UPI enabled services will begin soon. He also requested the customers to give their suggestions in future for continuous development of the bank.

Maurice Mascarenhas shared his good friendship with Anil Lobo. He wished the bank grows and adds many more branches in the coming days. He also requested for good facilities to be extended to the customers.

As part of customer meet, an open session was held to give suggestions, opinions and grievances to be addressed. The customers actively took part in this interactive session and gave their valuable suggestions. Every question that was asked by the customer was answered by the chairman.

Paul Herald Mascarenhas compered the programme and Puttur branch support director, J P Rodrigues welcomed the gathering.

Vice-chairman Jerald Jude D'Silva, directors Andrew D'Souza, Elroy Crasto, David D'Souza, former director Raymond Monteiro and general manager, Sunil Menezes were present. Branch manager Sharun Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem and lunch was served to all.
