Bantwal, Dec 12: Gram panchayat elections in Bantwal will be held on December 22. 2,552 nominations for 837 seats of 57 gram panchayats were received before Friday, December 11. The nominations were scrutinized on Saturday. 2,480 nominations were considered while 72 nominations were rejected for not observing the guidelines. December 14 is the last day for withdrawing the nominations.

As many as 91 nominations were considered in Narikombu for 26 seats. 82 nominations are accepted for 24 seats in Goltamajalu. The seats in Sajipamunnor are 23 and nominations are 70. There are 20 seats in Sajipamooda and 66 nominations are received. 57 nominations are considered for 15 seats in Sajipanadu. 52 nominations are considered for 20 seats in Chennaithodi; 23 nominations for nine seats in Pilatabettu; 84 nominations for 29 seats in Balepuni; 65 nominations for 21 seats in Manchi; 52 nominations for 19 seats in Idkidu; 103 nominations for 31 seats in Kolnadu gram panchayat; 61 nominations for 16 seats in Karopadi; 95 nominations for 20 seats in Kanyana and 69 nominations are considered for 20 seats in Punacha.
