Udupi: Local resident Mahesh Poojary emerges as 'Munch Superstar', wins Rs 5 lac cash prize

Udupi, Dec 13: Mahesh S Poojary from Malpe has emerged as the 'Munch Superstar' in an online talent hunt contest organized by Nestle Munch chocolates.

Mahesh was awarded a cash prize worth Rs 5 lac on bagging the first place. The online contest was held as a platform for talented young minds to showcase their talents to the world. Participants were allowed to enter the contest in two different categories -- 'Confident Performer' and 'Crunchy Innovator'.

Mahesh bagged the first place in the Confident Performer category.

Mahesh, who is a professional Rubik’s Cube artist created an artwork where he used the Rubik’s Cube to make the portrait of famous Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

The contest had received entries from all over India, however, Mahesh's unique artwork won him the first place. In the past, he has been credited with creating many such artworks with the use of Rubik's Cube. He has performed at more than 25 stage shows, one of which involved him making a live art of Saalumarada Thimmakka at a programme in Udupi.

The winning artwork was done using 1,303 Rubik's Cubes. His largest artwork involved the use of over 1,500 Rubik's Cubes.
