Mangaluru, Dec 15: "The government has approved 0.25 acre land worth Rs three crore for Byari Bhavan of Karnataka Byari Sahitya Academy near Thokkottu bus stand, Permannur village. The foundation for it will be laid soon," said academy president Rahim Uchil in a press release.

"25 cent of land in Baiturli village was bought during the previous academy term. The academy is grateful to the state government to have provided the land.

"The land approved earlier from Mangaluru urban development authority will be returned and the amount paid to Muda will be obtained back as a refund. The amount will be used for various projects of the academy. The chief minister has approved Rs six crore for the Byari Bhavan out of which Rs three crore is released. Therefore, the construction of the building will begin soon. It will be completed within 12 months," he said.
