Udupi, Dec 15: “Gram panchayats are the foundation for a democratic set-up. It is necessary to elect far-sighted, development-oriented able candidates for its success. Let us do it,” said former minister and former MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake. He addressed a meeting of Congress committee activists in Udyavar.

“The government that rules us has failed in all the sectors. Their anti-people acts reflect their dictatorship policies. The people need to reject them. The government has failed to solve the issue of the Corona pandemic also. People are facing hardships because of them,” he said.

Kaup north block Congress committee president, Pravin Shetty Korangrapadi said that it is our responsibility to elect representatives that indulge relentlessly in the service of citizens.

Udyavar rural Congress president, Girish Kumar presided over the meeting. Ramesh Kanchan welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Royce Mervin Fernandes rendered the vote of thanks.
