Udupi: IGP commends efficiency of Udupi police, announces prize money

Udupi, Jan 9: IGP western range congratulated Udupi district police officers and staff for their efficiency in solving major cases at various police stations in the district and announced certificates and prize money to them. The details of the police cases are as follows:

Police inspector Seetarama P who earlier served at Sen crime police station, current police inspector Ramachandra Nayajk, PSI Narayana, PSI Laxman and staff Sridhar, Raghavendra, Krishnaprasad, Jeevan and Praveen.

The team helped in an arrest in Saudi Arabia of a Koteshwar resident Harish Bangera, who was employed there. Bangera had opened a fake Facebook account in the name of Harish Bangera, posted false information about the Saudi King and the Muslim religion. The team investigated the case properly and helped in the arrest of two suspects.

The team of Brahmavar police circle inspector Ananatapadmanabha, the then Kaup police circle inspector Mahesh Prasad, Udupi circle inspector Manjunath, DCIB Udupi inspector Manjappa, Manipal station police inspector Manjunatha, the then Brahmavar police station PSI Krishnappa, DCIB ASI Ravichandra, DCIB staff Ramu Hegde, Raghavendra, Brahmavar circle office staff Vasudeva, Ganesh, Padeep Nayak and driver Shekar, Brahmavar station staff Dileep, Annappa Mogaveera and Ravindra and Hiriadka station staff Indresh. The team was responsible for the arrest of nine suspects connected to Kishan Hegde murder near Hiriadka Veerabhadra temple on September 14, 2020.

Police inspector of Manipal police station, Manjunath M and police sub-inspector Rajashekar Vandali who nabbed the suspects involved in drug peddling case registered a case at Manipal police station and confiscated large quantities of drugs.

Manjunath M, police inspector of Manipal police station, police sub-inspector Rajashekar Vandali, Manipal police station, Rajashekar B Naganoor, Kaup station, Sangeeta, Byndoor police station, Santhosh B P, Kota police station, Saktivelu, Udupi police station, ASI Diwaker Sharma, Manipal station, Manjunatha Byndoor station, Udupi station staff Riaz Ahmed, Vishwanath, Byndoor station’s Nagaraj, Kota station’s Ganesh and Krishna, Manipal station’s Adarsh, Kaup station’s Mahabala Shettigar and Arun Kumar who swiftly completed the investigations on the cases registered during 2019 and earlier to it and decreased the number of cases under investigations.

PSI Sangeeta, Byndoor station, Sridhar Naik, Shankernarayana station, Dileep Padubidri station, Sadashiva Gavarooji, Kundapur station, Raghavendra, Brahmavar station and Abdul Khader, Udupi traffic police station who cracked 67 cases in national Lok Adalat during 2020 and reduced the number of cases under judicial investigations.

Kollur station’s Navin Devadi, Malpe’s Raviraj, Padubidri’s Basappa, Shirva’s Andappa and Kundapur station’s Prasanna who maintained a good rapport with people and performed beet duty.

The senior police officials congratulated the awardees.
