Udupi, Jul 22:  A white Maruti Zen car bearing registration No KA 19 MA 4082, purportedly used by the miscreants who tried to eliminate Pitty Nagesh on Tuesday July  20, was confiscated by the policemen on Wednesday July 21. The car, owned by Navin Kumar from Bailoor near here, was found parked by the roadside at Bada Yermal village in the taluk.

Reportedly, a few persons had approached Kumar with an offer to buy the said car. Kumar is said to have told the policemen that he had given the car, relying on the words of the agent, and that he does know the prospective buyers personally. The agent in the meantime, is away from town, and the policemen are awaiting his return.

Pitty Nagesh was assaulted with lethal weapons while talking to a few people near CA Bank in Kukkikatte Indiranagar on the night of Tuesday. Even after enquiring with many people, the policemen have not yet been able to get any information about the assaulters.

In the meanwhile, the health condition of Pitty Nagesh, who is undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital, has improved. He has now been able to speak, the policemen said. They declined the rumour that a few have been arrested in this connection. “We have only questioned Narayan Shetty, Yogish, and a few witnesses who were present at the time Nagesh was attacked. None have been arrested as yet,” they clarified.
