Mangalore: Sene Moral Policing again, Objects to Girl Meeting Boy

Mangalore, July 23 (PTI): After lying low for some months, right wing group Sri Rama Sene has indulged in moral policing again, this time by objecting to a Hindu girl visiting the house of her college mate from another community here.

About eight boys of the college had rented out a building in Bijai area and four of them were away when the girl came to their house, police said today.

After knowing about the incident, Sene activists reported the matter to the police, who took the duo to the police station for questioning.

But at the request of the Sene activists, no case was registered against the two and they were let off.

The Sene said it did not want a case against the students as such a step would harm their career.

The attack by Sene men on a pub in Mangalore last year in which they assaulted girls and others had triggered off a wave of protest against the group and also the state BJP government.

How many Lacs for this project of Rama Sene. It is none of their business to check whose daughter goes with who as long as they are not minors. Where were these goons when their local leader was sleeping with underworld people. Terrorizing and collecting money. I have seen many young ladies cleaning the Apartments of Male College students(PGs) of many communities. These PG students are grown up males too. What goes behind the doors is not known. Why Rama Sene is not stopping them. If it is good for the Goose and then it is good for the Gander too.

This time Mr. Nagesh Nayak's comments make sense. Sri Rama Sene has done great job.

Several comments are seem to be based on some previous premise of church attacks etc. I have a question to those who are against Sri Ram Sene this time. If your teenaged child is involved in this act, would you like it???

I congratulate Sri Rama Sene for this stupendous job. We need this kind of people to keep the city clean from anti-social elements although it looks harsh. We want one BAL THACKERAY for Mangalore. One day or the other all readers will agree to this. I am quite sure.

I agree with Mr. Felix F, that "Sena this time done service to the community. A cerain amount of ethics and moraltiy should be followed by the community. This is not objection of Girl meeting boy as the head line says, but the boys and girl involving themselves in activities not in line with accepted society living."

Why do the Police have to entertain such complaints? Don’t they have any rule book?  Next time Rama Sena guys go the police with such complains they should be arrested.

GOOD WORK BY SRI RAMA SENE.

WE CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1.JOSEPH 2.YOUNIS(PFI) & ACTIVISTS OF SRI RAMA SENE.

SRI RAMA SENE SAVED THE LIFE OF INNOCENT GIRL & BRIGHTEN HER FUTURE BY REQUESTING POLICE NOT TO REGISTER A CASE.

What was the amount this Rama Sene people got with this deal ? It looks money making is their supremos agenda

There are so many social problems in Hindu community which can be solved with Senes illegal earning. Let them look into their neighbourhood . They may find so many sisters sitting home wothout marriage and no proper shelter. Let them clear off all these by giving preference.

I am sure ,they will not bother for this because they wont get anything financially. Theeir aim is money making in easier way.

Friends, lets look at this incident not entirely as hard core moral policing. Yes, it is a kind of moral policing, but it looks more of cautious approach this time around by the Ram Sene reporting "not acceptable way of girl" to the police. I wouldn't accept my teenage daughter (though I don't have one) all alone going to her boy classmates room and for that matter no parents will accept.

Our society is not that free and shouldn't be at the cost of completly ignoring our childrens safty.. Now given the track record of Ram Sene,I still do not accept their moral policing but yes, they can offset all their past misdeeds by doing some productive social services. To begin with let them start with a campaign "Clean M'lore, Green M'lore"

Nowadays goons have got legal protection in the name of a organization(Rama sena) which the BJP/Congress use when required. Hence it no use blaming these goons but root cause (political parties) be blamed for encouraging these.

According to this report police took them to station & didn't book a case on students after request from sene- What rules are these people enforcing, where in constitution it's mentioned a boy & girl cannot be friends & cannot meet each other if they belong to different communities. Isn't it violation & discrimination by law enforcing authorities, they should have arrested & booked these self appointed moral police for violating peace of the city with these acts of narrow-minded agendas.

When cow and bull are on heat, they try to qrench it. same thing is happening in human beings. This is 21st century. why prevent natural desires.

I know several people belonging to this sene are always on the lookout to do what they oppose in public. These are street scum and should not be taken seriously.

Reading the information given above, I dont think Sena has done anything wrong.

In fact, they have done service to the community. A cerain amount of ethics and moraltiy should be followed by the community.

This is not objection of Girl meeting boy as the head line says, but the boys and girl involving themselves in activities not in line with accepted society living

What a shame on the DK police. This article says" at the request of the Sene activists, no case was registered against the two". Were the police sleeping? The police should have registered a complaint against the ram sene for harassment. Were does the law say that a girl cannot visit a boy's house?

The Tehelka expose only confirms that the sene are goons for hire. Shame on the DK police. They can only harass the victims of the crime.

First of all the sene has no business to intercept a girl going to a boys house. And what the police is doing is even worse. Instead of telling the Sene to mind their own business they are tking the girl to the police station. And suprise. The Sene is telling them not to book a case against the girl as if they are doing a favour.
This means the State police is hand in glove with the so called moral police.

Sene activist reported this to the police, which means they are doing a great job by informing authority and not taking law in their hands. I am sure like me u guys well know how some NRI s utilise the easy money in the city, its always poor hindu girls become cheated and end up their life in a mess. Unlike others these poor hindus do not have wkly gathering, sangha, unity and preachers who could teach them monitor them and help them anmd they bnecome easy target.

What kind of case police will register? Is there any law in place which restricts people meeting? This is pathetic... a clear Gundaism... bullying ... and a question of our freedom. Horrible... Now I am thinking Is Mangalore is a better place to live?
