Udupi: Opposition to Poojary as Dist Cong Prez - Matter Reaches State High Command

Udupi, Jul 25: Former MLA Gopal Poojary from Baindoor unanimously election as the president of Udupi District Congress Committee has been met the opposition.

Poojary was declared the committee president at the committee meeting held at Zilla Congress Bhavan,
Brahmagiri on Saturday July 24. District election officer Vijay Mulugund announced the decision. However the decision has been met with the opposition from certain quarters and the matter has been referred to party high command in the state.

With the appointment of Poojary, M A Gafur who served for more than 10 years has relinquished his position.
