Moodbidri: ICYM Distributes Saplings to Celebrate Vanamahotsav

Moodbidri, Jul 26: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) celebrated Vanamahotsav in joint association with the forest department, Moodbidri and Todar - Hosabettu Forest Committee at the Holy Cross Church, Taccode on Sunday July 25.

Fr Mark Castelino, parish priest, Taccode, Sridhar, forest range officer, Moodbidri and advocate Shanti Prasad Hegde, president, Todar- Hosabettu forest committee were among the chief guests. Flavia Mendis, Hosabettu - Puchemoguru gram panchayat member too was a guest at the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar conveyed the message to the parish people regarding the importance of Vanamahotsav and its influence on the environment.

Paul Mendis, parish vice-president, Rajesh Mendis, ICYM co-ordinator, Taccode and Reckson Pinto, ICYM president were also present.

After the stage function, saplings were planted by the guests and ICYM members to mark the celebration. ICYM members also distributed more than 400 plants sponsored by the forest department, Moodbidri to the parishoners.
