Media Release

M'lore, July 31: Writer-director Vijaya Kumar Kodialbail, who had produced and directed superhit Tulu dramas like “Oriyardori Asal”, “Maamugonji Maami”, “Kode-Ini-Elle”, “Madime”, “Kutumba”  and thus created a new trend in Tulu dramas is all set to present his new drama, “Ajjer”. The muhurtham of the drama took place at the famous pilgrimage of Gurudev Bhagavan Nityananda in Ganesh Puri of Maharashtra.

The first here in Mangalore will start from the third week of October and Kala Sangama Troupe is scheduled to travel across Mumbai and perform dramas at various places from January 15 to 31 of 2011.

Kodialbail, who is the ardent follower of Bhagavan Nityananda, offered special pooja to the bhagavan and placed the script of his new drama at his holy feet.

Later, addressing the gathering in a stage function, Kodialbail said the drama “Ajjer” is not a mythological one, but it is about the situations that take place in the family of a devotee of Bhagavan. This family drama tries to prove which is greater among devotion versus money power, he said and added that he has narrated the script in such a way that it won’t disappoint the commercial sector viewers.

Kodialbail reiterated that his troupe “Kala Sangama” is not dependent on star artistes, in fact there are no star artistes in his troupe. It is because of the author and the director an artiste gains popularity and if there is a good script combined with good direction, then people prefer to watch the drama again and again irrespective of the artiste performing in the drama, he said. By the grace of Bhagavan his troupe comprises only extraordinary artistes and not stars.

The function was witnessed by eminent personalities such as Kumar N. Banger, managing director of Kumar’s International Group, Niranjan Suvarna of Photo Corner and Murali Hegde from Ganeshpuri.
