Udupi, Jul 31: Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Mangalore, Udupi Taluk Mahila Mandaligala Okkoota, Udupi Buntara yane Nadavara Matrusangha, Udupi Taluk Committee and Taluk Yuva Buntara Sangha jointly organized ‘Aatidonji dina’ and Ponjeve Koota (ladies’ meet) at Ammani Ramanna Shetty auditorium, here on Saturday July 31.
Home minister V S Acharya inaugurated the programme. He said that people need to develop even more interest regarding the Tulu culture and literature. “Children should learn the Tulu script. At least in the next academic year it should be included in the syllabus from std VI onwards”, he hoped.
MLA Raghupati Bhat presided. Karnataka Tulu Sahiya Academy president Paltady Ramakrishna Achar, Women and Child Development assistant director A S Sumana were the chief guests.
Varieties of delicious Tulunadu cuisines were prepared by the ladies, which was served to all who attended the programme. Tulu folk and cultural programmes were also organized on the occasion.
