Udupi: Pothole, Speeding Lorry Claim Two Young Lives on Nittur NH - 17

Udupi, Aug 2: In an unfortunate incident that occurred on National Highway – 17 at Nittur on Sunday August 1, two bike riders were killed and two injured as a speeding lorry crushed them near LVT Temple.

The deceased have been identified as Rakshit from Eshwarnagar in Garadimajalu and Asif from Kolalgiri here. The injured were Girish (14) from Kodankoor and Dolphin from Eshwarnagar in Garadimajalu. It is said that Rakshit and Girish and Dolphin and Asif were hit by the speeding lorry when both the bikes veered to avoid a pothole at the accident spot. They were traveling towards Kolalgiri when the accident occurred.

Though the injured were rushed to private hospital, Rakshit and Asif died while being shifted to Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Manipal. While, Girish is recovering at the private hospital, Dolphin who has suffred severe head injuries has been shifted to KMC Hospital.   

Town police registered a case.

    Great achievement -

    Karnatka has the highest and record number of pothholes.

    Just look at our neighbouring Kerala, their roads are marvellous and are in good condition.

    Our roads are full of shrimanjis .
