Udupi, Aug 9: A student, who had come to Malpe beach with his friends on Sunday August 8 evening, lost his life in the rough sea. He has been identified as Mohan Kumar (21), a MS (Information Science) student from Manipal, and a native of Bangalore.
Kumar, along with his college mates, Sandesh, Manoj, Rangadeepa, Manu, Vinay, Shanmukha, Ramaswamy, Sripati and Amit, had arrived at the beach. While taking bath in the sea, he was washed away due to strong undercurrent. However, the people succeeded in rescuing him. He breathed his last while being taken to a hospital.
Malpe policemen have registered a case.
