Kasargod, Aug 14: Abdul Aziz alias Balake Aziz, arrested in connection with the murder of a youth Congress leader, Abdul Basheer alias Abdul Jabbar (29), has been handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for interrogation.
The Ernakulam chief judicial magistrate’s court passed orders, ordering CBI custody for Aziz till August 18. CBI inspector, K G Darwin, leading a CBI team investigating the case, had filed an application for Aziz’s custody. Abdul Aziz faces charge of leading a team of hired killers in eliminating Jabbar.
In this case, CPM Kumble area committee secretary, K Sudhakar Master, who allegedly hired Jabbar for the task, has applied to the state High Court for anticipatory bail.
