Mangalore: Community Members Celebrate Koraga Bhoomi Habba

Mangalore, Aug 18:  The Koraga Bhoomi Habba was celebrated by the Koraga Development Associations’ union here on Wednesday August 18.

MCC commissioner Dr KN Vijayprakash inaugurated the programme by wearing the cultural turban of Koragas and hitting the traditional drum.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the Koraga community has gained popularity through conducting various programmes which reflects its unique culture and traditions. He also urged the community members to make the right use of funds set aside by the government to the members of Koraga Community. A meeting will be called within a week to discuss about the Koraga community s development project, he informed.

Dressed with rich costumes and accompanied by music, the members went on a procession from Mangalore City Corporation to Kodikal.

Chairperson for Health and Social Justice Committee Appi Kodikal, president Koraga Development Association Union Susheel Nada, former president of Koraga development Association union Balraj, secretary of the association Sanjeev Kodikal were present at the programme.
