Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Aug 20: In a tragic incident that reminds one of the need to be extra-cautious when toddlers or small children are around, a child was crushed under the wheels of a car which was being reversed by the grandfather of the child in question.

U P Verghese from Nelyady in the taluk, was reversing the car in the courtyard of his home from its parking slot on Thursday August 19. He did not notice that his 18-month-old grandson, Jaishu, was around. The child came under the wheels of the car and suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to a hospital in Mangalore immediately, but treatment did not succeed in reviving him.

This is high time for Mangaloreans to learn to park reverse.
Instead of starting reverse. Park reverse..

In the last sentence you have referred the child as "It" pls respect the deceased with some dignity and change it to "The child was rushed to...."

Very sad incident indeed. This incident again reminds us that the safety awareness amongst the people is almost nil. If one follows this famous phrase "Think before act", will prevent lot many incidents.
