International Year of Youth Launched in Archdiocese of Bangalore

Bangalore, August 21: Archbishop of Bangalore Rev Dr Bernard Moras has invited all youth irrespective of caste, colour or creed to join hands and shine bright to bring warmth and love to the world.

He was speaking after formally inaugurating the International Year of Youth being observed under the auspices of Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Bangalore in the Bangalore Archdiocese at a colourful ceremony on Friday at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral.


 

The Archbishop exhorted all youth to unite and work to lift themselves up through the path of service and lift up the downtrodden.

The Youth Director Fr Divya Paul presented the theme and the logo amidst a pageantry of colour, music and dance depicting the joyous nature of youth, their struggle to remain upbeat and their never dying spirit of life that enables them to reach out to the world with their exuberance.

The flag and Banner was unfurled to thunderous applause and also the logo of the International Year of Youth, which marks the spirit of creativity and dynamism in youth.

The Archbishop invited the all the youth to be true to the theme adopted for the year, “RISE AND SHINE, for a better World.”

Fr Divya Paul said that many Youth Programmes and activities have been planned for the coming year to facilitate and inspire youth to Rise and Shine to make the world a better place for all.
