Hassan: Tanker Driver Burnt Alive

Hassan, Aug 21: After the petrol tanker he was driving from Mangalore to Bangalore hit a roadside tree in the wee hours of Friday August 20, Jagadish (25), a resident of Madanjimar in Haleneranki in Puttur taluk, was burnt alive.

The accident occurred all of a sudden, and the fire that got ignited in the engine because of the friction engulfed the entire vehicle within seconds. While the driver did not get any time to escape, its cleaner, Dinesh (23), jumped to safety with serious injuries.

The fire brigade personnel rushed to Heddurga Koodige in Alur taluk near Sakleshpur on national highway 48, doused the flames, and retrieved the mortal remains of the driver, later.
