Mangalore: Murder Attempt Accused Absconds

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Aug 24: After two workers employed in a hotel in Attavar Road in Hampankatta in the city fought on Monday August 23, one of them stabbed his colleague before running away.

Ashraf (24) from Meeyapadavu in Manjeshwar, works as a cook in the said hotel. Vinod (45), appointed on security duty at the hotel, abused Ashraf, alleging that the latter had thrown garbage in the rest room of the hotel staff. The scuffle ended with Vinod stabbing Ashraf in the stomach, and threatening to kill the latter. Vinod absconded from the scene thereafter. Injured Ashraf is recovering in a hospital here.

The Pandeshwar policemen, with whom a complaint was registered, have been investigating. The policemen said that the fact that hotel operators do not have any information about Vinod, who joined them recently, other than that he is from Kanyakumari, is hampering their investigations.
