Bengaluru, Jun 7: In response to Yediyurappa's offer to step down as the chief minister (CM) any moment the leadership wants, speaking at Mysuru, former minister H Vishwanath, told the media persons that Yediyurappa decided to offer to resign due to the interference of Vijayendra in the Mysuru district administration. He said that Yediyurappa had put in maximum efforts to establish the BJP in the state and that the CM showed his large-heartedness by offering to resign. He deserves to be appreciated for asserting that he will be at the helm only as long as the high command wants, he added.
Curiously, BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who is a better critic of the chief minister, visited Bengaluru from Vijayapura on Saturday night. Yediyurappa offered to resign on Sunday morning. Political analysts wonder whether these two things have some relationship. Because Yatnal had said that Yediyurappa should resign and honourably retire from politics.
MP BY Raghavenda, said that his father and CM B S Yediyurappa, only reiterated the principle followed by the party and that there is no chance of his replacement. MLA and chairman of housing board, Araga Jnanendra, also said that Yediyurappa happens to be the only leader of the BJP here. Several of the legislators too confirmed that they are solidly backing Yediyurappa.
