Moodbidri: Illegal liquor sale - Police recover liquor sachets

Moodbidri, Jun 8: The police personnel of the town station raided a spot after getting information that illicit liquor was being sold at Kallolli in Kadandale village. They recovered the liquor sachets.

Suraj from Kallolli has been accused of selling liquor illegally. He had collected liquor illegally without any permission or licence. When the police raided the spot based on reliable information, the accused and the customers took to their heels. Liquor sachets worth about Rs 3,231 were seized from the spot. A case has been registered in Moodbidri police station.

Similarly, police personnel of Mulky station raided a spot near Mulky Lingappayya Kadu after coming to know that liquor was being sold illegally there. The sale was being conducted openly on the road leading to Hanuman temple near Lingappayya Kadu.

During this raid too the accused fled before the raid. The police took into possession liquor left behind by the accused. A case of Covid rule violation has been registered against the accused.
