Bantwal, Jun 8: “Water will be stored in the dam constructed across Netravati river at Mudigeri, Shambhoor grama here from June 8 according to the quantity of the rainfall,” informed AMR officials.

The people residing near the river have been asked to exercise caution as the water level in the river will rise. The water stored in the dam will be used initially for electricity generation and released back below the river. As there can be variations in the level of water below the dam and both sides of the river, the residents on the river side are asked to take care of themselves and their pets. The warning is sent to residents of Narikombu, Thumbe, Kadeshivalaya, Balthila, Sajipamooda, Navoor, Sarapadi, Barimaru, Sajipamunnur and in Bantwal municipal council limits.
