Mangaluru: Black fungus - Two cases confirmed, three dead

Mangaluru, Jun 10: On Wednesday, two black fungus cases were confirmed in Dakshina Kannada district. Both belong to Chikkamagaluru district. Three black fungus patients breathed their last on Wednesday. Two among them were from Chikkamagaluru and one from Shivamogga.

Four patients recovered on Wednesday. There are 53 active black fungus cases in the district. So far, ten such patients have died of this disease. Out of the deceased, eight were from other district and two were from Dakshina Kannada.

In Udupi district, on Wednesday two patients were discharged from the hospital. One new case of black fungus was diagnosed in a 43-year-old man from Udupi city. He is being treated in KMC Hospital. The total number of infected persons rose to 19 with nine active cases.
