Dharwad: Gadag tops list of cities having cleanest air

Dharwad, Jun 17: As of June 15, Gadag city topped the list of cities with the cleanest air. Several cities in the state have figured in the top ten list.

The union environment pollution control board releases air quality indexes of important cities in the country on a daily basis. On June 15, it released such a list for 131 cities. Out of them, 41 cities were ranked as good, 65 were in the satisfactory list while 21 are grouped as a medium as far as air quality is concerned.

With a cleanliness index of 10, Gadag was picked as the city with the cleanest air. It is closely followed by Aizwal, the capital of Mizoram, with 11 points. Yadagiri is in the third spot with 14 points. Hubballi is in fourth place with 21 points. Bagalkot with 25 is in sixth place. Bidar and Raichur which have got 26, are in seventh place. Davanagere, Mysuru and Kalaburagi with 27, 28 and 29 are in the subsequent spots.
