Sullia, Jul 2: Close on the heels of an incident in which two siblings died after a swing made of the sari on which they were playing got tightly wrapped around their necks, comes the information that a boy from Chembu village in the taluk met with a similar fate.

A boy lost his life in a similar fashion on Wednesday June 30 evening. The ill-fated boy was Bharath, the ten-year-old son of Panedka Tarakumar. Bharath was a fourth-standard student. The swing which he was using suddenly twisted, and he was smothered to death.

Bharath's parents were away at the rubber smokehouse at that time. The boy's four-year-old brother was playing outside at the time. In the newly built house, two separate swings had been arranged with the help of ropes for the two children. By the time the mother reached home, the boy had got stuck in the swing and was hanging. Even though he was immediately taken to a hospital, the doctors confirmed that he was no more.

The boy has left behind his parents and a younger brother.
