Rear ending a vehicle is a cause of not maintaining enough room between the vehicles and the driver not being alert. If this happened during the daylight then drivers speed, pure carelessness and unawareness of traffic rules. If at night then speed and not being alert; also the vehicle in the front probably had no reflectors (also if parked) and tail lamps. In any case drivers in India only knows to change gears, accelerate and steer. Wish them a speedy recovery...

This is a clear case of over speeding and reckless rather senseless driving on the part of the car driver.

Most of the goods vehicles have no tail light working. This too is a cause of accidents during night and some vehicle have brakes not working and that too causes accidents during day time. RTO should check all the vehicles.

It is sad. I wonder how drivers drive vehicles in the night. I can not and will not venture into it. In the City it is O.K as there are street lights and also speed is also less as the traffic is more. But on our highways (so Called) can not drive without a peg to reduce the sense of driving.

Yes, but this truck also does not seem to have under-run protection bar at the rear. That would have reduced the severity of the injuries. Without that, the truck's loading platform will hit the A Pillar of the car, which causes more injuries and also airbags may not deploy, even if the car is equipped with airbag..
