Mangalore: Nominations Sought for ‘Rachana Awards-2010’

Mangalore, Sep 10: Rachana - Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has invited nominations for the five ‘Rachana Awards’ instituted to honour outstanding Catholics from Mangalore Diocese who have excelled in their respective fields.

Nominations are sought for ‘Rachana Agriculturist of the Year’, ‘Rachana Entrepreneur of the Year’, ‘Rachana Professional of the Year’ (doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants), ‘Rachana NRI Entrepreneur/ Professional of the Year’, and ‘Rachana Outstanding Woman of the Year’.

A panel of 15 jury members will scrutinize the nominations/recommendations and shall select the most deserving ones. The award ceremony will be held on Sunday December 19 at Milagres Jubilee Hall in the city, and will be presided by Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore.

Each award will consist of a title, a citation, a memento, and a public honour.  Applications/ nominations/recommendations, along with photograph, should reach the address below on or before Friday October 15.
