Chamaajnagar (Karnataka), Jul 16 (IANS): A 40-year-old female elephant died of electrocution at Alathuru village, in Gundlupet taluk, Chamarajanagar district, on Thursday.

According to the Forest Department, the wild elephant died when it tried to enter a local farmer Jagannath's field that had sown groundnuts.
