Mangalore: Karnataka Coast Experiences Sporadic Rains

Mangalore, Sep 14: Most places in the coastal belt of Karnataka was enveloped in cloudy atmosphere on Monday September 13, which changed into sunny weather often during the day. Random rains were experienced in Puttur, Kadaba, Uppinangady, Beltangady, Mulky, Kateel and the city. Heavy rainfall was witnessed late evening on Monday and early hours on Tuesday September 14 across the coast.

Lakkavalli in Shimoga district recorded the highest of five cms of rainfall, while all other places in the coast recorded an average of two cms of rains.

The meteorological department has predicted good rains, which might be around 65 mms, during the next two days. The southern hinterlands are expected to get light to normal rains, the department said.
