Mangalore,Sep 14: The awards ceremony of CAP Quiz conducted by Diocesan CAP Cell was held on Sunday September 12.

After giving away prizes, Melwyn D’Cunha, chairman, MCC Bank said in the coming days the bank
would support the economically backward members of the community with financial assistance to purchase vehicles to start self-employment.

Speaking on the occasion, Arun Furtado KAS, district social welfare officer spoke of his own experience of younger days in ceasing all opportunities to participate in the quiz. This has helped me become what I am today, he added.

In his presidential address, Fr Wilson D’Souza, secretary, CBE called on students to participate in all
competitive exams, do well and serve the nation and society in the public sector through selfless service.

Fr Onil D’Souza enlightened the participants on the goal and objectives of CAP Cell and purpose of conducting quiz.

The CAP Cell had conducted the quiz in 15 deaneries of Mangalore diocese on August 1 to recognize and encourage the talent in students. In all 1,175 students between the age group of 16 to 25 years had participated in the quiz sponsored by MCC Bank, Mangalore.

After the stage programme, Career Guidance and Motivation programme was held. The sessions were conducted by Prof Rajan and Mr Francis D’Cunha. Mr Victor D’Silva compered the day’s programme.
