Udupi, Sep 14: The devotees of Lord Ganesha, who is also known as Vighnesha (one who removes or controls obstacles), get pleasure in making the Lord’s idol in various sizes and forms, and offer various pujas to him.

An idol of Lord Ganesha was installed on Ganesha Chaturthi day by Sri Shivananda Saraswati Swamiji of Gouda Padacharya Kaivalya Mutt at Banaganga Kavale Mutt in Valkeshwar, Mumbai. This idol will be immersed after taking it through a grand procession, on September 24.

Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti, Shankarapura in the district, installed a Ganesha idol and performed various pujas and programmes.

Lord Vinayaka’s idol was also installed by Bantakal Sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti. This is the sixth year the Samiti is organizing this programme. An idol of Lord Ganapati is also being worshipped at Bantakal Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple.
