Mangalore, Sep 27: Udupi-Chikmagalur MP, D V Sadanand Gowda (DVS), said that vacant posts of the chairmen of corporations and boards in the state will be filled within a week. “While appointing people to these posts, those who failed to get ministerial berths will be given preference,” he explained.
He was speaking to reporters during his visit to the city on Sunday September 26.
DVS confessed that he was a bit disappointed at Chikmagalur assembly district not getting a representation in the ministry during the recent exercise. He said he had already apprised the Chief Minister and the state president of the BJP about his feelings, and expressed the confidence that the concerned will get justice during the next revamp of the ministry.
“When I was the state BJP president, I had mandated that all the ministers should be present in Vidhan Soudha at least two days in a week. This rule has been diluted now. The Chief Minister has said that those ministers, who do not handle their departments with efficiency, would be dropped in the next reshuffle. None of the top leaders of the party were disgruntled at the recent ministry reshuffle,” he claimed.
Gowda informed that after he was given the charge of Kerala state BJP, he had organized two meetings there, and held discussions and consultations with the party office bearers there. He hoped that Kerala electorate will elect at least a handful of BJP legislators during the next assembly election.
