Mangalore: World Tourism Day Celebrated at Varsity

Mangalore, Sep 29:  ‘World Tourism Day’ was celebrated at Mangalore University, Konaje here on Monday September 27.


The programme was organized under the banner of Tourism Club, the association of tourism students in the department of business administration.

Preetham from Travel Terminal here inaugurated the programme.  Rajayogini Bramakumari B K Kavitha delivered a special talk on ‘Tourism and bio-diversity stressing the need for conserving the bio-diversity.

She enlightened the gathering with her mindful thoughts. The chair- person of the department, professor Mustiary Begum presided over the function. Dr Syrulwa, associate professor, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, USA was also present and shared his experience on significance of biodiversity.

A cultural event was also organized on the occasion. The formal function started with the welcome speech by Shekar Naik, assistant professor in Tourism Studies. Deepika compered the progamme and Nelson Patrick D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
