Mangalore: ‘Deepak D'Cunha Did Not Drown, Was Killed’ – Father

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Sep 29: Cyril D’Cunha, father of Roshan Deepak D’Cunha, a student who reportedly drowned at Tannirbavi beach within Panambur police station limits on September 18 this year, alleged that his son was murdered by his classmates. Addressing a press conference in the city on Tuesday September 28, he demanded for an in-depth investigation into the entire episode. Cyril is employed in Saudi Arabia.

“Roshan had not drowned accidentally, as claimed in a report filed with the policemen by my son’s friends. If he had drowned, where is the gold chain he wore around his neck? Where are his mobile phones, ATM card and clothes?” he questioned.

He said that the classmates of his son have been behaving suspiciously, and not been forthcoming with convincing answers when questioned. He feels that a thorough investigation will bring out the truth behind the incident. It may be recalled that Roshan’s friends, who were witnesses to his drowning, had kept mum, and had revealed that he had drowned, only after they were questioned two days later, about Roshan’s whereabouts.

“Roshan is the last of my three sons. He was a second year BBM student of St Aloysius College, and stayed with two classmates as paying guest in Bishop Compound, Valencia here, since the last two years. He used to visit his native place every Saturday evening, and return on Sunday evening. My wife and son, Kenneth, have already filed a complaint in this connection in Panambur police station,” he said.

His relative, Ronald Lasrado, and son, Kenneth D’Cunha, were present at the press conference.

Looks like you have not got some of the basics right Cyril D'cuhna. Here is how i look at the incident. Goldchain can be lost in water and clothes can disappear due to wind, water or some poor guy picking it up. What is more important is that u need to see if three was activity on the atm card after his death if yes then you will be able to prove that your sons death was murder. Indeed my sympathies are with u so i thought why not share some thing valuable that u were missing in ur statement.

First let us pray for his soul, let almighty God forgive his all short coming and peace to his soul. May almighty God give strength to his family and friends.
It is very suspicious behavior about his friend who went along with him to beach. First of all when he drowns none of his friends tried to save him nor asked for help. Second it is mentally impossible to keep mum when your friend drowns in water in your presence. At least his friends could have informed either to his parents / guardians or college authorities. Police department must do in-depth inquiry and clear all doubts.

If it was a case of drowning why didn't his friends inform police or his parents? strange! such a loyalty by friends. Police must conduct indepth investigation to bring out the truth. Even if it is an accident his friends have lot of explanation to do, for they have foresaken basic human spirit.

It is a very painful and terrible
tragedy of life. The family is
    going through severe sorrows. The
judiciary has to bring out the
    truth at the earliest.

We are living in a different time,
    values and loyalties have gone
from the mindset of the people,
and for the majority of the people
    "money" became their supreme idol
of life. So, anything can be
    expected from unexpected places
    and people.
