Udupi: Deserving Students Awarded ‘Vinamra’ Scholarships

Udupi, Oct 3: Under the aegis of Sri Krishna Math, Dharwad Vidhya Poshak, and Yakshagana Kalaranga, ‘Vinamra’ scholarships were distributed here on Saturday October 2. 

Swami Laxmivarateerta of Shiroor Math inaugurated the programme and distributed scholarships worth over Rs 10 lac to deserving students of the district on the occasion. 

Swami Laxmivarateerta appealed to the students to appreciate the hard work involved in earning the amount of money which they receive as scholarship. He urged them to excel in studies and in life by making the best use of the scholarships. 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr G Shanker, president, G Shanker Family Trust, commended the Math authorities for supporting deserving students with scholarships and extending financial assistance to the sick and ailing. 

Dr Shanker also announced donation of Rs 2 lac towards the scholarship fund of Sri Krishna Math and called on the students to return the debt to society after they secure a better future. 

He also announced a contribution Rs 1 lac for Vidhyaposhak on the occasion. 

Vidhyaposhak will award Rs 16,79,780 to 525 students by the end of this year. On Saturday, scholarships were presented to 224 students.   

Maple entrepreneur Pramod Madwaraj, Sai Radha Developers managing director Manohar Shetty, entrepreneur Meena Lakshani Adyantaya, Purushottam Patel, hotelier Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, Vishwanath Gundmi, and Yakshagana Kalaranga president Tallur Shivaram Shetty were present on the occasion. 

Kalaranga secretary Murali Kadekar compered the programme.
